One of my personal passions is in woodworking and I had long wanted to build my own guitar. Doing so required utilizing a large number of techniques and tools, from mechanical design, computer-aided manufacture (CAM), bandsaws, drills, routers, mills and then a dozen hours of hand-sanding and staining.

A laser engraver was used to accurately mark the frets on the neck to ensure correct note pitches.

You can never have enough clamps.

Finally, putting the whole thing together required some simple circuit design and assembly with a soldering iron.
